We painted regular paint over River Rock texture with no problems whatsoever. So I wouldn't worry about going over Candlelight.

sweeby, I have some, but they don't show the mottled look. I'll have to try and take some more. One thing I forgot to mention was that it wouldn't affect being painted over.

RL's "stringy" roller cover helps a lot to lightly "mottle" the Regent Metallic.

Wooster makes one too, called the "Poar Bear".

Yay! I'm so glad you asked this. we just moved into our first home, and I saw the candlelight paint and fell in love with it. I was a little iffy on spending $46 a gallon on it, but then HD dropped all their RL paint down to half price, so I bit the bullet and bought a gallon of it. I did get the special textured roller by RL made for the candlelight paint, so we'll see if it works. Hubby is painting my master bath today, and I'll end up doing the candlelight paint sometime this week. I do know that it says to wait at least a day between the bast color and the candlelight paint. I'm going for a very relaxing feel in my bathroom, so I'm hoping the candlelight paint is the way to go.

I want to see it when it's done! I saw the half price RL paint at Home Depot but I didn't know the candlelight paint was half price. I'm going to have to go there tomorrow and pick some up. I was thinking of doing my dining room, or maybe the dining room ceiling? And then the little tray ceiling in the entry to match. Not sure though. Don't even have a paint color for the dining room yet.
