I have oak cabinets and am thinking of the same granite but with a dark glass tile back splash. My post is the thread below yours, I have a photo posted with a kitchen I saw with an all black look with whiter cabinets, very dramatic

I have white cabs with blue pearl. We did white tile with diamonds of blue pearl in between to tie it together. I wanted a backsplash that was shiny and smooth (i.e., easy to clean with just the dishrag). It's been about 3 years and I still love it!

This is the whole kitchen (before we installed the island). We have oak floors. You can choose the same tile in a creamy color instead of the stark white.

Here is mine. It is pure white glass that reflects off the countertop. It always looks light blue/gray in any light. Be sure you bring your samples home to check with your lighting.
