Will soft close cabinet doors become the standard?

We are getting closer to our kitchen renov. Our cabinet maker will be doing inset cabinets. In fact, inset is all he does and they are beautiful.

My question is regarding soft close doors. He prefers the exposed hinge door, but can do a hidden hinge to allow for the soft close feature. For my own use, not having soft close doors is OK with me. But I wonder, if they will become the standard as have soft close drawers? We have no plans to sell our home, but things can change. Our home value is about 50% above the average in our town. So these buyers may expect more. Will future buyers turn up their noses if the doors are not soft close?
