Usually you just download the bulk trash pick up schedule from your city and drive around to the areas at the appointed week to glean their bags. Feel the sides to figure out which ones are 100% leaves. Arizona is a big state, assuming that is where you live.

just bumping this up, I'm still interested in getting several bags of leaves.

I would never pick up bags of leaves left by the roadway. My friend did and along with the leaves was dog doo doo. That cannot be known by just feeling the bags to make sure they are just leaves. For myself, there are several areas around me with falling leaves. I travel with a rake and some bags in my backseat for times when I run across open areas just begging to be raked. I have also offered to rake neighbors yards just for the leaves. As a matter of fact I am heading out tomorrow to the area just behind Sprouts on Bell and 59th to rake up fallen leaves.

That's area you mentioned is a great spot for leaves. I'll probably end up doing this around the neighborhood since I'm not getting any bites.

It can be if you own dogs like I do. I wouldn't risk introducing any kind of disease, etc. into my yard from other people's dogs.
