I would 1st like to see the rest of the room. Are you going to add an area rug? I love the chairs with the beautiful fireplace. I think you need to stay w/ your own good taste.

I would go with legs on little wheels. Dark brown leather tufted. Add area rug if this is a stand-alone sitting area. Will bring it together & make it complete. Very nice.

I agree the fireplace is nice how it's crafted [and real stone yes].... funny question but how wide is each chair? There will be only 2 there? I never hear much about measurements for chairs and their 'coffee table'.... ? [couches I do].

Do you like neutral or color 'garden stool'? If you taped on the floor any option that might help...how big will it be? If you think that area needs interest [as to rug or not] there's always a statement vase on the hearth....?

I can't go more than 30-32 inches in whatever I bring in. I was initially thinking something like a Jessica Charles #831 tufted round ottoman. sorry, I don't have a picture. Then I went to something unusual, shape possibly. But leather may be more practical?

Or, what about a narrow rectangular ottoman? Anyone know where one might be purchased?

Let me ask if you are leaning toward modern which to me leather ottoman.

If you want a hand-crafted natural look: round is it rattan? or neutral fabric to soften the space.... oh is the kitchen right there? See it seems there's darkness [though computer limitation?]. I don't like too much dark furniture personally.
