Jade cuttings dying

I took some leaves off my healthy jade and placed them in a little greenhouse type thing. I only watered them once. I set the greenhouse in direct sunlight for a few hours, and condensation builds up in the house, so I thought that my jade would do well. It is turning brown and shriveling. Is it getting too hot? I am confused as to what I'm doing wrong

Based on what they say at this link, I suspect your cuttings are getting too much water due to the greenhouse effect. http://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/jade-plant/propagating-jade-plants.htm

I have better luck with cuttings when I use a rooting product such as Rapid Root, Clonex, or Bontone. Just do a Google search on those brand names and follow the directions on the package.

Jade leaves don't need moisture to root. You're rotting your leaves.

Take a leaf in good condition and place in dry soil flat. Just leave it like that and depending on vigor & temperature, in 1-3 weeks you will have roots. Don't water until there's a new baby plant with roots growing, and even then minimal water until the original leaf is completely dried and shriveled up/dead.
