Just had my bedroom repainted and am having serious doubts

I just got my bedroom repainted Sherwin Williams Iceberg. I wanted to go for a super light blue to give the feeling of a winter wonderland against my white trim. I tried out a few different samples and chose Iceberg. For the first couple of days I loved it. Now, I'm like seriously doubting this choice. I am new to this whole redecorating thing. Has anyone else had this experience? Re-painting my room is not an option at this point. Maybe I'm just doubting myself or maybe it is my intuition kicking in. Could use some advice. Thanks!

    Can you post a pic?

She posted a pic in her other thread so I will repost it here: <img src="http://st.houzz.com/simgs/8a12773704f8e3ce_8-7399/home-design.jpg">; http://ths.gardenweb.com/discussions/2888847/need-help-decorating-my-bedroom?n=13

I like it, but it's not a wow on its own. I would use it as a backdrop to let other accessories shine for the winter wonderland look you say you are seeking. I'm seeing deep gray-blue velvet drapes, an opulent upholstered headboard with tufting and nailheads in a cool color, white bedding with gray-blue euro shams and maybe some turquoise throw pillows, and a round mirror with a glitzy silver or antique gold frame over the headboard.

This paint color can work with your vision, you are just not there yet :)

Adding the accessories will bring it all together and give a focal point for you to take your mind off the paint. I love the mock up. Artwork will also give a huge boost to the entire scheme. Good luck! : )

It's pretty. Cover up the old bedspread, even with just a sheet, and you will like it a lot better. I think it's the contrast with the yellow/brown that is throwing you.

I like it. What about it is giving you doubts? Some people are prone to second guess themselves after any big decision. I think it would be nice if you continued to decorate in only white and blue.

I really like the color! Two weeks ago I asked for color suggestions for my bed room and I am still getting my test samples together to put up patches to put to a vote here for which to use in my room with pine furnishings and I am now adding iceburg to the list.

I agree with the suggestions for white bedding and some new window treatments. Maybe silver leaf the sidetable by the bed for a bit of glam. Do not give up your vision is going to be beautiful before you know it.

Oh my goodness! I am overwhelmed with gratitude for all the support and suggestions pouring in!! Thank you so much for each one of you taking time to help me. These comments are getting me excited again about my vision and are building my confidence. And....I LOVE the mock up, aktillery9! When I first saw that pic, I was like "wow, such a pretty room, that's exactly how I want my room to look." Didn't even realize it was my room until I read your comment. That was so generous and helpful of you to do that for me.

    Thanks all

If repainting isn't an option, then try to not second guess it. I agree with Annie that it is the yellow and brown in there that are throwing you off. Get some white and some bling in there (silver leaf, mirrors…) and you'll have your winter wonderland.

A suggestion: With those windows, I'd hang white or lacy sheer curtains from the edges of each WALL over to the start of the windows to give the illusion of the entire wall being windows.

    Like this, from both sides:

Consider painting the ceiling as well, a silver, like SW Reserved White. With white drapes and the iceberg walls…oo la la!

I used a similar color, Glidden Silver Cloud. Mine is a bit more grey than blue, though. It was shocking at first, as the room was originally antique white, with a very dark merlot accent wall. The new paint felt very pastel (which I don't like) at first. I hung charcoal grey linen curtains with white sheers, tufted chairs in front of the fireplace in the same charcoal linen, a white Matelasse on the bed with a white/grey duvet folded at the foot. I added pops of color with turquoise velvet pillows and art above the bed that included the silver blue wall color, charcoal curtain color, and turquoise. Now, I love it.

The color is beautiful. If you are planning on replacing the bedding and open to replacing or updating the maple dresser, it will be fine -- as atk's mock up shows. I think I am about to undergo a similar shock in my family room -- sometimes I can see it and sometimes all I can see is what it is now.
