plantation shutters

I have a standard 2 door sliding glass door that has lelvors on it now. For the last 20 years I never go out the door. My room is dark I was told because I don't want sliders. Useless that just center with bar for 2 doors that open. Basicaly for cleaning window. This would give me the best light. By the way my whole house is 3 and half inches width. Do you agree.
