French Door or Side By Side Refrigerator?

We're trying to decide whether to get the french door with the water dispenser inside and ice in the freezer or a side by side with the dispenser in the door. 22 cubic feet in the french door and 22.7 cubic feet in the side by side; both counter-depth and 72" tall. I think the side-by-side looks dated but husband wants as much storage as we can get since we're losing our standard depth fridge that has almost 30 cubic feet of space.

I love the french doors you lose storage space in the side by side regardless of the measurements you wrote because wide items cant fit well. I love the small footprint of the side by side. I have a maytag that has a separate crisper drawer, soi much waste is avoided bec you see everything, nothing gets lost at the bottom of drawers.

Here are some pros and cons to think about. Another thing to think about is how much you use the water/ice dispenser. If it's often then all that opening and closing can impact the appliances total energy use.
- Lateral space is better in a french door with more refrigerator room
- Price is better in a french door
- More organized space in a side by side
- More freezer space in a side by side

Just curious what you decided. I am replacing a 36" side by side built in and thinking about a French Door style since we don't use the freezer as much, however I have a narrow galley kitchen so not sure I will like it.

I've had both and hated the side-by-side....so narrow! Go with the French, for sure.

French door for sure love my Samsung french door so much refrigerator space & I have a pull out deep freezer underneath lots of freezer space too

We have 3 door - French on top and pull out freezer on bottom with exterior water/ ice dispenser - no regrets at all - love it - so much more space than side by side and easy access!
