Nope! Most stone counter tops are set in the same epoxy that was used to bond the seam. Unaffected by heat and cold, the stuff is like iron when dry.

Thank you for your response! I had just read on a website about someone who was not happy with the seam on the overhang of their honed marble countertop. They had the installer come back to remove the added piece using heat. This worked and the customer decided to keep the marble at one continuous piece for the counter instead of "building the edge up" to make it look like a thicker piece of marble. I am in this situation and just wanted to know if anyone else had this done. Thank you again!
