We have plans for a river rock fireplace to the right of the door, along with shelving and artwork. How should I balance the other smaller wall to the left of the door? Any ideas are appreciated.

Perhaps the opposite wall should be your focal point. Please post photos of all walls and furnishings so we can help you work this out.

I can't imagine a river rock fireplace there. I fear it will overwhelm the room.

This space is way too small for anything but a simple fireplace with a small mantel no river rock
