It would also depend on your bedding, wall color and type of furniture used...so hard to suggest. A flat weave can work with a Cape Cod and going with a neutral might be the easiest.

I painted the wall in slate blue (grayish blue). Ceilings and woodwork bright shiny white w/very tiny beams painted slate blue. I was leaning toward a blue rug. Curtains are cute for your attic bedroom, have you thought of not matching but adding a color? A printed cabbage rose rug with reds, greens and blue or perhaps something brighter with reds or orange?
