Help with hallway lighting

I am struggling finding a light fixture for this short hallway. We are redoing the trim and touching up paint and realized we hate what's there! Ceilings are 8', hallway is 3'x9'. The hallway is slightly crooked since it's an older house and if we can find a way to minimize that, it would be great. Any suggestions? House style is transitional w/ some farmhouse touches. Thanks in advance!
