Can this light be placed in a recessed fixture on my covered from porc

Was wondering if this light can be placed in a recessed fixture (soft it lighting) on my front porch or is this light meant for a motion light fixture.

Hi Steve

The light is meant to be placed in an outdoor fixture. For recessed lights your best options are BR30 sized bulbs which are designed for recessed lighting. PAR38 bulbs are floodlights meant for outdoor fixtures. Smartsense is also meant to be placed on a simple fixture as the motion sensor inside the bulb eliminates the need for a motion detector fixture.
