My first sniff of Sugar Moon was at the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden, and I thought it was lovely and moderately strong, somewhat similar to PJPII. It was my sister's favorite of the day (mine was Jude the Obscure). Later, I found this rose at the public rose garden here, and the fragrance was pleasant, but nothing to write home about. The flowers do not seem to tolerate the heat well, so that was a deal breaker for me.

I think HMF describes the fragrance as being citrusy, Noseometer. My hit and miss sense of smell did not pick up citrus, nor what has been described as "old rose" or damask... if that is the same???? It just seemed like standard garden variety rose fragrance to my nose...

Wow, Parker, I'll have to wait for this year's flowers to sample it again to see if I get anything similar. I don't remember that at all!

Pond's Cold Cream

My nose did not pick up vanilla custard with raspberry, Parker... I would have wanted to eat it!! Maybe this year's blooms will have a different fragrance....

The next time I am in CVS or Walgreens, I will see if there is a sample of Pond's Cold Cream so I can take a sniff, Phylissteen.
