Remove them. Paint the front door a great color or black. Paint garage door black if you paint the front door black. Think about terrific landscaping--extended beds out the front instead of shutters.

Donna, listen to the architect! I hope he/she explained why the shutters are wrong. Each shutter should be half each window's width making it impossible on the lower, largest window. Instead, I would put a wide trim around each window.
