Rosa helenae, hardy ramblers for cold climates

Ramblers are difficult in colder climates. I have only three, the white Finnish beggeriana hybrid Polstjärnan, hardy to zone 4, useful but not very exciting. My two helenae hybrids, Lykkefund and Hybrida (a study name because the origin is not known) give me much more pleasure. There are some enourmous plants in Scandinavia, perhaps not of Tombstone size but respectable nevertheless. Mine are not as big yet.

Lykkefund, can get very tall

Part of Hybrida in a pear tree. It looks better to the neighbours south of the hedge. They invite us every year to come and see it.
