Another Linear F/P question Gas vs Electric

We were recently at a parade of homes and one of the homes had a 96" Electric Linear F/P. They are considerably less expensive than the gas ones. The builder stated that even though electric, they have a heating element that does produce heat and is better for the TV as far as heating. Again any comments welcomes. Tim in San Antonio area.

Hi again, your average electric fireplace may produce up to 400 sq.ft of heat. They aren't ideal if you are looking to heat an area larger than that.

We have a forced air heating ststem so not really needed for that. Wife likes to back her bum up to a F/P to warm it. She cant do that with the cool air system art all bc it vents from the top of the F/P above the TV

Hi Tim, I back into the fireplaces in our showroom all the time. Never done it with an electric. We don't turn the heater on because they're loud and sometimes smell funny.

Maybe consider an ethanol fireplace.
