Paint splatter removal

I took my carpet up in my dining room hoping to refinish my old wood floors. I'm also trying to figure out how to remove a lot of oil based paint splatter that's probably been on there for years. I use mineral spirits in a couple spots but it discolored the floor. Any advice would be great!

Let the floor finisher worry about it when he sands down the exisitng floors.
