I love Desdemona - it's one of my favorites! Your blooms look really pretty floating in the clear glasses. (I've also noticed that as the plant gets older the blooms are more robust & last longer.)

Omg I totally thought I was SUPPOSED to do that! They say it promotes leafing out and root growth but if I think about it, if I’m just cutting off their efforts, it’ll just take longer for me to see the blooms. I won’t disbud any further! Desdemona is gorgeous!

Thank you! The plants are too young for me to be cutting long stems, so I bring them home to float in cups. Here is a poet’s wife bloom among sweet peas and Desdemona. Thank you for letting me know that, I can’t wait for the plant to mature!

Love the color combination of Desdemona with the sweet peas & Poet's Wife! It's amazing how the lavender shades of purple complement just about every color of rose so well.

Desdemona is exquisite, both in the pink and paler phase.

The jury is still out I think about disbudding, but there are certainly reputable rosarians who think taking off the buds on young roses is beneficial. I've decided to continue doing it, but I know others with better soil and growing conditions who don't bother and their roses do extremely well.
