Wait, no, that's wrong. I put them in to soak on the 5th ... did not plant/baggie them until the 7th. (Meant to only soak 1 day, but it was more like 2 almost.)

Moving on, here is a photo of the other side of the non-peeled seed. Observe the different shaped ends. Assuming I pick the right photo, the pencil is pointing towards the business end.

See how that end is sort of shaped like a squiggly or curly bracket? This is a way to peel them - you just use your fingernails and nip off that little point.

Then, you'll have something that looks like this below.

Then you hold that so the torn bit is at the top, and then - see how it's bent or ridged down the middle? - you want to bend the seedpod towards yourself gently - bending the sides in horizontally along that vertical axis, if that makes sense? - until you hear a crack. I am not explaining very well, but say that seed in prior photo is an open book, with the ridge as the spine. Well you are bending the way you would close a book.

I'll bet there is a term for this and someone here will know it.

The motion is a little like breaking off a Kitkat, only smaller and more gently. (I think this whole procedure would be tough if you don't have long fingernails. Just saying.)

You just want it to crack - don't actually close the book.

Then, you can just pull off one side of the seedpod, and voila! There is a little seed in there.

I then took a metal nail file and scarred the heck out of them. Until I saw white. I did some horizontal and some vertical, and both sides. Not the whole thing, just enough that I thought water could get in. Unfortch I wasn't smart enough to keep track though of which ones and how. Soaked them for maybe too long.

Well after all that, I just tried doing one without tearing off the little bit, and that worked too.
