This would have been easier to display if you had provided a straight on photo that wasn't crooked. Location for backsplash and shelves. It's a possibility.

If privacy is needed I’d consider a top down shade so u get the privacy but allow some light/view. If you feel the closed feature of a shade is going to be the norm I’d get something other than black . You can do a lot of things on the wall but a window is a big feature and you have the one only in that strategic spot.

That is definitely in the works. We were actually shopping a dining table when the lockdown closed everything. This table will have a new life in the basement as a card table.

The black blind is overwhelming. Try for something closer to the wall colour. A framed poster of a favourite holiday spot would look good beside the window.

Definitely art , photos ...it's open concept so bring art into the kitchen no clutter on shelves UNLESS you need shelving ...good luck ...!

Seems most logical to install your backsplash to the bottom of the hood and the cabinetry on the stove wall and then continue at the level of the cabinet bottoms on the sink wall. I love the idea of shelving that others have suggested.

Does it make sense to take the backsplash all the way to the floor on the sink wall or end it at the countertop?
