You can always add color with paint and accessories. If you are planning to move, then I would stay neutral and consistent with the overall style of the house. I would also keep the cost of renovation in line with houses in your market. If you are expecting to stay, do what you love within a sensible budget.

I, too, would go for neutrals and then, if you get tired of the colors in your bedroom and want to change them, you aren’t “stuck.” You can always paint or change out your towels and accessories in your bath.

I always like to keep my bathrooms looking clean and fresh - to me that's white. You can change things like cabinet hardware, towels, rugs, etc., but I like to keep the fixed elements white and classic.
