What size is your sink? Main faucet should be in the middle. I like air switch close to the garbage disposal (but my drain is offset), so my air switch is on the right side of sink. My soap dispenser is on the left. I don't know what an air gap is.

Google it, take a look at the image results. What you’ll see is that there are no real rules, except that the main faucet is centered - you can arrange them as you like. That said, I would keep the filtered water farther away from the cleaning elements (If you have the real estate to do so), because you’re more likely to have a sponge in your hand or just a dirty hand where you put the soap dispenser. You want to keep the filtered water clean.

Optimally, if you have the space, I would place filtered water to one side, faucet in the middle, even spacing for the others on the other side, air gap to the right with the same offset as the filtered water - but as you can see below, you can do whatever you want.

Only California requires an air gap these days. And it is an antiquated and outdated rule. Dishwashers today come with a “high loop hose” pre-installed, rendering an air gap unnecessary. That is why it is not required by Code in the rest of the country. What many people do is install the air gap for the building inspector, and after the inspection, replace the air gap with the soap dispenser. So that would be one less hole you need to drill making 4 holes in all.

You want your air switch for the disposal to be installed at the end of the line, near the corner. You don’t want it too near the faucet handle. Because you don’t want drippy hands at the faucet constantly dripping onto the air switch. Several reports on this forum of that happening until eventually the air switch fails from constant water exposure.
