Toilet space and vanity size dilemma

Hello all,

We are remodeling our 8x7 ft rectangular bathroom. We are most likely going to put all of the plumbing along one 8 ft wall, due to where the door is, in order to make the most usable space for a small linen cabinet. We will have a 30-inch wide clawfoot tub.

My question is this: Ideally a toilet would have 18 inches of space from the center of the toilet on either side, however, the minimum for codes is 15 inches from the toilet center. Should we sacrifice space for the toilet (30 inches) to have a slightly larger vanity (36 inches) or go with a smaller vanity (30 inches) in order to have slightly more room for the toilet (36 inches)?

Thank you.
