Design Dilemma Kitchens

QUESTION: Crown Molding for Kitchen Cabinets

We're renovating our kitchen and taking the cabinets to the ceiling. What size molding is appropriate (not too thick and not too thin) for an 8' ceiling? Currently, we are planning on 3.5" molding on top of full overlay cabinets. Thoughts? Does anyone have photos to share of 3.5" molding on kitchen cabinets with an 8' ceiling? Thank you!

Style is also important--style of cabinets and house overall.

Yes, we are installing custom cabinets. The uppers are 38.5" high. They are similar to Shaker style; however, the ones we chose have a beaded edge around the panel (center section) so they are a bit more traditional rather than modern/contemporary.
