Hello - we are looking to reconfigure our island so half of the island is made up of cabinets (existing) and the other half is an open tabletop with room for four/five stools underneath (this is what we’re looking to build). Quartz would be over the whole island, similar to what’s shown in this pic. Our contractor hasn’t created one with such a large overhang so I’m looking for structural advice. Is this feasible if we use a pillar in the middle? Something else we need to do? Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction.
