Hot end of June Day in New Jersey

I started a large thread and it was lost. I will try again, and just post this photo of 'Fire Agate'. I have a small property, and not a ton of daylilies, but I like them, and I have had a couple mail orders over the years and have even done a few crosses. I plan on getting rid of some of the ones I don't like in the future to make precious room for more seedlings. In any case, my

only double, but one I like a lot, 'Fire Agate'.

This is what I got when I crossed 'Wild and Free' with 'Just Like Candy'.......kind of in between the two

The cross above crossed again to 'Wild and Free' (3/4 'Wild and Free) I grew a couple of these seedlings......some more red, some more maroon. some with some "eye" and others not. All kind of spidery/ufo.

It looks like you are getting good results from your creative crosses. Both of your Unusual Form babies look pretty. Nice work! Fire Agate and Just Like Candy are both beautiful cultivars.

Thank you both! Not a serious hybridizing effort but a few seedlings that I had grown out "for fun".

be careful, hybridizing just for fun can be addictive you know. I like Just Like Candy, and you got some really nice seedlings!

I once had Fire Agate until it became lunch or dinner for voles. It was always so pretty. Just Like Candy is very nice. Your ”just for fun” seedlings look like they would be fun in the garden!!
