But I would not rely on an emailed image to make the decision.

What the image does tell you is that there is a significant color difference. If it is that far off when you see it in person, you didn't need to pay for photo mapping and would have rejected it before you got to vein matching.

And that is long before we get to considering how the colors read in your house and under your lighting.

Have you seen the 2 slabs in person?

That is a huge amount of difference. I’m not a fabricator but if I were I’d be embarassed to even send that image. Definitely go see it in person and it isdifferent at all I wouldn’t accept it. Maybe one slab was stored outside in direct aun?

If you put the seam in the middle of the cooktop and used an apron front sink, the vein matching would be nearly irrelevant. I'd have to see dimensions on your drawing to see if that's possible.

What make you think a picture shown a computer monitor would even be accurate?

Hard to judge from a computer rendering photo ... but you can also have the fabricator confirm that the slabs come from the same lot number, which you would want if they are being seamed together.

Some slabs have color shifts across the length. Youll never get a good match out of them.

Are you sure that the difference in color/shading is not to show you where the seams would be? The stone is otherwise all the same color.

We had something similar sent to us from our stone fabricator. The template looks weird. See how the L shaped area is larger than the rest of the U shaped countertop? I thought they had made a mistake in the layout. The shading is also slightly off. It was explained to me that the size difference is to show where the seams are.

Only one way to find out for sure.
