Of course you can!! It is just slightly more decomposed than fresh pine bark would be but that will have no adverse impact on either the potting mix or the plants.

Fungal mycelia. Present with any sort of fungal activity.....which decomposition is. Nothing to worry about.

It will only affect the bark and may even convert it into nutrients tthe plants can use.

I wonder whether the fact that this bark is now somewhat decomposed---means I should not add the dolomitic lime to the 511 recipe when using this bark? And I don't need to put it into a wheelbarrow to air it out?
