Wow big kitchen. I am not a designer, but I had same honey oak cabinets. Had them painted a cream colour, bought new hardware and had granite counter tops and stone back splash done. NEW kitchen that look amazing for half the price of a Reno. If I can find pics will show you. Go to pintrest and search painted cupboards, unreal how they can look. Consider profession painting if your not really handy. It's a big job.

Just saw the additional pics. Lovely, you know if you don't like painted look, you could also re-stain wood a little darker to update the look. That would be nice too. I like the structure and layout, I think you just need to update the look. Highly encourage counter change, love the granite, would never be without it again.

The good news: with a view like that, no one will ever notice the cabinets. That said, painting is one option, but if the cabinets are in good shape, refacing is something to consider.
