If you haven't heard of this rose, that's because it's a name I gave to a seedling of Rosa Mundi. Pollen parent probably Violacea or possibly Tuscany. Color blood-rad as the name indicates--brighter than Conditorum-- with crimson shading, golden center, and a velvet texture. Begins to darken to crimson on the second day and thereafter. The red reminds me more of the red of a China like Cramoisi. Flower form like that of Rosa Mundi and Violacea.

It seems to have acquired the more aggressive tendencies of the pollen parent, because after it bloomed for the second time, it produced suckers. I moved one too soon and it died but the other bloomed for the first time this year.

Lindsey.
