Island HOOD vent in front of window- are Bends ok?

OK. I know there are a lot of discussions on this topic... I've read several but none answer this question. LET me start by saying those who think this is a stupid idea, please go look at pinterest and other galleries. ITs quite nice, and we've looked into codes in TN and there is nothign stating it cannot be in front of a window. My window is 14-16" above the stove. WHAT I do know is that the vent exiting the house has to be 3' from any door or window. I have an upstairs(my kids bedroom is actually right above this, and therefor limited on going up 3' and out. I know that 18' is max lenght of duct. WHAT I AM WONDERING: CAN AN ISLAND VENT BEND 90DEGREES 2X? SO UP AND IMMEDIATELY OVER THROUGH JOISTS(TO GET MY 3' DISTANCE FROM WINDOW.) AND THEN BEND OVER AND OUT OF BRICK OR SIDING? over all duct distance would 4' roughly.

and i'm plannning 900cfm for a 36" gas range.

Thank you in advance for any professional knowledge!
