How deep is this drawer?

How deep does a drawer need to be to allow for this amount of storage for cutlery and knives? I would rather have the cutlery at the bottom as it always opens doesn't it? Then you'd have the option of pulling out the upper level to get to the sharp knives..

Thank you for your question. This fits standard 4" deep drawers. When opening the 2-Tier drawer, you will see the top tier, then you can slide the top tier to access the 2nd tier with the knife block. You can view how these drawers open and function in this Cutlery Storage video:
