It would be helpful to have a floorplan and dimensions of the entire room. Any budget considerations?

Congratulations on the new house! I notice your other two posts too, and totally understand your excitement about getting started on making this new place your own.

I don’t see the door you are making into a window.Even if you could add an ironing board where would you stand to iron. Yes we need a floor plan so we will wait for move in.

I have the smallest "laundry room" I bet of anyone and LOVE it!

It freaked my husband and contractor out when I insisted that it was going to be painted very dark, including the ceiling. There were looks of horror, astonishment and continual chimes of "it's going to be a black hole, a dark pit, etc."

Having the ceiling light installed was paramount.

It was important not to have wood shelves, that is, shelves that would block the light. Instead, racks, holders, clips, knobs, you name it, I installed it.

This is in our bathroom so everyone sees it, I get countless compliments on the design.

I would paint the room a "happy" color and install a rod going from cupboard to cupboard for hanging your clothes as they come out of the dryer. Clothes basket in bedroom closet for dirty laundry....bring to laundry room on wash day. Portable ironing board to put on top of your machines when you want to iron? Not sure.

We also have a very small laundry room which is also a mud room and a small bathroom off of the laundry room. It is a tight squeeze. I thought the laundry room would be the place to use paint colors that were fun. Even made a light fixture out of a small laundry basket. Below the sink between the washer and dryer is where we keep the cat liter box. My husband cut an outline of a cat in one of the doors where the cat goes in and out.
