A Modern Lower LevelModern Basement, Minneapolis

Complete renovation of an unfinished basement in a classic south Minneapolis stucco home. Truly a transformation of the existing footprint to create a finished lower level complete with family room, ¾ bath, guest bedroom, and laundry. The clients charged the construction and design team with maintaining the integrity of their 1914 bungalow while renovating their unfinished basement into a finished lower level.

Thanks for your question about this White Crane Construction project. We did the design and construction on this space, but we did not select the furniture. I believe this was purchased by the homeowner prior to construction.

why did you choose the glass doors for the bedroom?

  • D.D. Tdon

Where did you get the glass doors from? How sound proof are they compared to a normal door? Looking to create a bedroom in a basement with no windows but have a glass door such as this.

We get them from our lumber yard, they are a paint grade single panel door with etched glass. I cannot give you the exact specific of the sound transfer but yes, you will hear more noise through a glass door opposed to a wood slab.

Thanks for your interest in this White Crane Lower Level Remodel. Attached is a floor plan with dimensions for this project. The bedroom you mentioned is labeled "Guest Room". I only have elevations indicating the bath ceiling height in this lower level. The bath ceiling height is 7'. I am assuming that the ceilings in the other rooms are close to that height as well. I hope this helps in planning your project.
