Maraya Interior Design's own Maraya Droney designed and built home to raise her young family, with her husband, Tim Droney, contractor. Country English Cottage style home with exotic interiors that reflect the travel the Droney's have had, all over the world, from India to Bhutan, to Morocco and Holland, to name a few. Maraya's inspiration was the homes in Holland, where she is from, bringing the warmth and charm as well as gardens to sunny southern Cal where she grew up. From their beautiful resort town of Ojai, they serve clients in Montecito, Hope Ranch, Santa Ynez, Malibu and Calabasas, across the tri-county area of Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles, south to Hidden Hills and Calabasas.

Impluvium Architecture Alamo, CA, USA The realtor who sold the property to the Dinstells mentioned that an Architect just bought the property next door (we were neighbors for our first house - found under Houzz Projects = Haley 3) I was the Architect and helped coordinate with various sub-contractors. I also co-designed the project with various consultants including Interior and Landscape Design (+our house concurrently being built next door) This project I had to put professional ethics above my personal needs for my new house concurrently built next door. I originally wanted a Modern House and the Dinstell's wanted a French Country but I knew that they would clash next to each other so I redesigned our house to be a Contemporary Craftsman style.

I love pale blue and red together. The family's bold sofa and rugs were softened by Benjamin Moore's "In Your Eyes" blue wall color and the many french inspired patterns in the pillows and valence .

We used this beautiful french fuchsia chair as our inspiration and worked around it! The plum and blush accents were a nice way to bring in that color family.

This warm formal room was designed so that it gives you many places to sit by the fireplace. This multi-function room is perfect when the family especially when is cold outside and they want to be together eating and lounging. All the chairs were custom reupholstered along with the curtains and accessories. It was creating texture and layering.
