Inspiration for a huge transitional medium tone wood floor kitchen remodel in Kansas City with a farmhouse sink, recessed-panel cabinets, white cabinets, solid surface countertops, white backsplash, stainless steel appliances, an island and subway tile backsplash

Home Addition

Transitional Kitchen, Kansas City

Clients' first home and there forever home with a family of four and in laws close, this home needed to be able to grow with the family. This most recent growth included a few home additions including the kids bathrooms (on suite) added on to the East end, the two original bathrooms were converted into one larger hall bath, the kitchen wall was blown out, entrying into a complete 22'x22' great room addition with a mudroom and half bath leading to the garage and the final addition a third car garage. This space is transitional and classic to last the test of time.

Definitely looks like oak, very hard to differentiate between red & white oak when they are stained. They both stain very similar, have to say white oak looks better with the darker black & brown colors. Check out Dura Seal stains they offer a number of choices plus can be mixed to play with the colors.

Probably red oak from the looks of the grain, red oak tends to have more graining than white. White is a bit tighter on the grain.
