This repeat client asked us to design two separate bathrooms for their growing sons, utilizing the land-locked space of two small jack and jill baths that shared one common shower. We had to get creative in our design and space planning in doing this and incorporated elements true to each sons personality and styles. Each bathroom is now a space that their sons can grow into and enjoy through their teen years.

This bathtub shower combination looks fantastic. An alcove tub with large format ceramic shower wall tile and black shower fixtures and valves. The glass sliding shower door has black barn door hardware. Black Schluter trim for the large shower niche and shower tile edges.

Our clients had updated almost every room in the house, except their upstairs Jack and Jill bathroom that was shared by two of their daughters. They wanted a timeless, classic look and feel, to match the rest of the house. The walls were painted Pearl Gray, which were perfect with the Carrara marble white hexagon tumbled marble mosaic floor tile. Classic white ceramic subway tile was installed on the shower walls and on the vanity backsplashes. Stylish 3-light satin nickel contemporary lights were hung over each vanity with a beautiful Charleston brushed nickel 13 ½” ceiling light was installed in the shower area, giving the perfect bit of light and a little bling to these girls new classic bathroom. We were given the task of taking a bathroom that hadn't been updated since the house was built in the 1970's and turning it into a bathroom that the 3 kids would be happy in and to get them out of the master bathroom that we had recently completed.

This artistic and design-forward family approached us at the beginning of the pandemic with a design prompt to blend their love of midcentury modern design with their Caribbean roots. With her parents originating from Trinidad & Tobago and his parents from Jamaica, they wanted their home to be an authentic representation of their heritage, with a midcentury modern twist. We found inspiration from a colorful Trinidad & Tobago tourism poster that they already owned and carried the tropical colors throughout the house — rich blues in the main bathroom, deep greens and oranges in the powder bathroom, mustard yellow in the dining room and guest bathroom, and sage green in the kitchen. This project was featured on Dwell in January 2022.

The kids bathroom was part of the addition along with two children's bedrooms on the 2nd floor. The black and white patterned flooring sets the tone, with a bold green tile in the bathtub/shower combination. A fun geometric black tile was used above each vanity, giving each child their own area. A veined gray quartz was used for the countertops and black matte fixtures compliments the look.
