I find it to be very interesting when do - it -yourselfers try to second guess the designers and argue with them. It is quite unnecessary, to cause such a fuss and is much easier, on the egos of both parties

Are they close to velvet at all? What fabric do they most closely resemble?

They were made out of a faux wool fabric that I know has since been discontinued. But I'm sure there are others out there like it.

Aha! Thank you! The tracks I have been researching all show when uncovered. Would you mind telling me the mfr /style you used? And did you paint them the wall color or moulding color to camou? Thanks again.
  • PRO
    Brian Dittmar Design, Inc.
I don't actually know the mfr....my drapery workroom provides them. They are white tracks in the shape of a C that allow the ball-bearing glides to move and the hooks to come out of the open part of the track. You still see it somewhat, but when mooted directly agains the crown moulding it almost appears to be part of the moulding. Hope that helps!

This is one of my favorite headboard designs. I've had many clients come to me asking to make this bed for them because they could only order this bed online, and it was pricey, and it would take forever to deliver, etc.etc.

My clients were able to get the same design, choose from a great selection of fabrics, have it made within a few short weeks AND my clients saved money!

I would consider a taupe or champagne soft nylon in a solid or a gray and yellow . We make custom carpets if you cannot find a machine made rug to your liking.

The color is Benjamin Moore "Sparrow" AF-720.

There has been quite a bit of questioning by Houzz members in the past if this is truly the correct color, and I can assure you that it is. Look above the window on the left and that's the true tone of the color. The area above the headboard looks lighter than the color does on a chip...due to the abundant natural light as well as the photographer's artificial light sources that were brought in. Be sure to paint a test area on your walls to make sure you like it!

The color is Benjamin Moore "Sparrow" .... but if you read many of the other questions on this topic regarding this photo many people are shocked to hear it's that color. As I always tell people, you must test paint colors in your space first as the lighting conditions could be completely different than that of the room in the image. In this case, there are windows on 3 sides, so it gets a lot of light plus we had artificial lighting for the photo shoot. Hope that helps...

Those sheets look gray to me. I think you could find them in the bedding department of major department stores or perhaps a little online sleuthing. I'd start with The Company Store (.com). Such a pretty room. We all want it!
  • ebboy5
Thanks for all the complements~! I'm the homeowner that worked with Brian. He is simply the best!
The sheets are from Frette which were purchased quite a few seasons ago. They are actually in the color they call "Mink". I also have another Frette set in grey and they actually are inter-changeable with the Mink color.
Sorry... but these sheets are no longer available.
    Good Luck!

They were from an Asian import store here in San Francisco called Big Pagoda which has closed. They might have an online presence, so you might Google them and see.

    Hi -

Both are from Williams Sonoma Home, but I know the lamps are no longer available. You could try searching for "burl wood" lamps and see if anything comes up, or you could try and find wood block bases on existing lamps and have a decorative painter faux paint them to look like burl wood. Hope that helps....

It was from Williams Sonoma Home, but most likely no longer available since they've cut their lines so much and folded it into the regular Williams Sonoma. You could probably recreate a pillow like this with some grosgrain ribbon!

They're either completely custom, or off-the-shelf ivory draperies from someplace such as Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware that have been customized with a contrasting band of fabric along the edges.

        3. Pick the right placement for your bed. “I know I’m being nitpicky, but I’ve done nearly 1,000 consultations in 20 years and I’ve seen a clear correlation between troubled romance and troubled sleep with bad bed locations,” Gomez says. She recommends having a headboard to anchor your bed and placing it against a solid wall, not a window. You also don’t want to float your bed away from the walls. “There is no stability in such a situation,” Gomez says. “If you have a bed floating in the middle of the room, the feeling of groundlessness makes it incredibly challenging to sleep.” But you shouldn’t locate your bed in a corner. “This is OK for a kid’s room, but for an adult looking for a relationship, there is literally no room for another person to get in the bed,” Gomez says. “Each person should have space to easily enter and exit the bed. We want equality and balance with a healthy measure of space in a relationship. You create externally what you wish to achieve internally.”

Elements of Style added this to Love Luxury? Comb Through the Wonders of CashmereJan 16, 2013

In the spring, shepherds comb the fleece just before the goats begin the shedding process, which lasts three to four weeks. One goat produces about 1/2 pound of white, gray or brown fleece. White cashmere is the rarest. The raw fiber is washed and the guard and undercoat hair are separated, so that only the undercoat remains. This process reduces the weight of the total fleece by up to 50 percent. The remaining soft undercoat then goes on to be dyed and spun. The rarity of the raw material and the hard work that goes into producing the finished result makes it truly precious; it takes fleece from about 40 goats to make a single blanket.
