The extensive remodeling done on this project brought as a result a classy and welcoming perfectly layout kitchen. The combination of colors and textures along with the long rectangular kitchen island perfectly positioned in the center, creates an inviting atmosphere and the sensation of a much bigger space.
During the renovation process, the D9 team focused their efforts on removing the existing kitchen island and replacing the existing kitchen island cabinets with new kraft made cabinets producing a visual contrast to the rest of the kitchen. The beautiful Quartz color river rock countertops used for this projects were fabricated and installed bringing a much relevant accent to the cabinets and matching the backsplash style.
The old sink was replaced for a new farmhouse sink, giving the homeowners more space and adding a very particular touch to the rest of the kitchen.

The transformation of 2,100 s.f. of former servant's areas in an existing single-family residence circa 1860. The program consisted of the creation of a loft-like workspace, wet bar, playroom, as well as a guest suite. Existing portions of the original construction were "preserved and celebrated". New areas were designed around an aesthetic that was more relevant to the "here & now". The entire volume of the servant's area was exposed. New access to the existing roof top "Widow's Walk" was created using a new metal staircase, whose form and color scheme is loosely based upon the theories of Piet Mondrian.

Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) have been all the craze here in San Diego and all across the state after Sacramento changed a few laws, making it easier for California residents to add and ADU to their property. There are specifications, of course, but the value of an ADU is immense and can have a plethora of different benefits for each family. Two main benefits for adding another dwelling unit to your property are: 1) adding value to your property, and/or 2) to allow your property to house more of your family.
Please browse through the following gallery for our Bay View ADU project here in San Diego, CA. If you have any questions about adding an ADU to your property, please book a consultation with us either through Houzz or our website today and we will be glad to help answer any questions you may have.

This 4,500 square foot house faces eastward across Lake Washington from Kirkland toward the Seattle skyline. The clients have an appreciation for the Foursquare style found in many of the historic homes in the area, and designing a home that fit this vocabulary while also conforming to the zoning height limits was the primary challenge. The plan includes a music room, study, craft room, breakfast nook, and 5 bedrooms, all of which pinwheel off of a centrally located stair. Skylights in the center of the house flood the home with natural light from the ceiling through an opening in the second floor down to the main level.
