The Freeman Residence chose to use Desert Sand Boulders mixed in with drought tolerant plants native to the area. They also used mulch as ground cover around the plants and boulders. Mulch is a great choice to use as ground cover because it keeps the moisture in and protects soil from weather extremes like wind and heat.
