Alla Akimova is the founder of ARCHIVES id, a New York-based architecture firm and interior design. Alla lives to create inspired projects, learning everything she can about each client to infuse that client’s passions and life experience into the space. As a traveler of the world, as well as a native of Siberia, Alla understands first hand how personal experience can create an emotional connection to one’s surroundings. By the age of 8, Alla knew she wanted to be an interior designer and architect. After attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Novosibirsk, Russia and the Novosibirsk University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, where she established a broad and solid base for visual sensibility, Alla was afforded the opportunity to come to New York and attend the Fashion Institute of Technology. She has now called New York her home for the last 12 years which she shares with her son and husband. Archives ID has created numerous residential and commercial spaces throughout the city including homes for personalities such as Nicole Hanley and Fareed Zakaria, as well as the boutique Manhattan pharmacy, City Drugs. Additionally, her work can be seen as part of the 2012 Holiday House, which raises money for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Alla’s 2,500 sf. office space and rooftop serve as both exhibit and gallery space for local artists.
