BJ Peterson has skillfully guided me in designing and furnishing a number of homes in and out of California, never letting that distance negatively affect the service or project completion. Her sense of color and scale are irreproachable. Throughout our projects, I have been able to easily add new pieces, move furniture and accessories from room to room, and adjust palettes without having to start all over again. Her greatest capability lies in the ease with which she interprets my stated needs by providing me a coordinated selection from which to choose; having that protected range has nurtured the flexibility of her designs. What a pleasure to work with such a pleasant individual who is a recognized professional.

I hired BJ when she was working for Cannell and Chafin. She designed my children's bedrooms. We lived in a big house in Encino. Each finished product reflected the personality of each child. BJ treated the children with respect and patience. Both children loved their rooms. BJ also did some work on our house. After my dissolution, BJ helped me with my condo in Hancock Park. Years letter she helped me with my apartment in Sherman Oaks. BJ also did two displays n the Lobby of the Children's Courthouse in Monterey Park. She designed a tribute to Court of Appeal Justice Paul Boland. On this project she worked with the Presiding Judge of the Juvenile Court of Los of Los Angeles County, the widow of Justice Boland who is a Federal District Judge, the first female president of the Los Angeles County Bar and I, a practicing attorney. BJ also designed a display for Comfort for Court Kids, Inc., a non profit at Children's Court in the Lobby, "Creating a Child Friendly Courthouse" and my Office.

I ordered a hand painted custom bed through BJ. A myriad of things could have gone wrong, nothing did. The bed arrived in my requested custom size , and fit like a glove. BJ kept in close contact with me all along the way overseeing the construction at each step. This was a major investment and could have been a disaster if trusted to the wrong hands, however because of BJs attention to detail, precision, clear communication skills, and thorough professionalism we obtained miraculous results. We are in the middle of replacing floors of window treatment and drapery w ith BJs help , we are confident in another seemless experience. Thank you BJ.

I needed help in redoing a family room. BJ helped me pick out the paint for the room, fabric to recover some existing furniture. She brought many groups of sample fabrics for me to choose from. It was very helpful because I am someone who cannot put fabric patterns together. Everything turned out great. We recently went down to the design center to choose other fabric for another area of the house. Always most gracious and listens to your likes and dislikes. I would highly recommend her.

BJ Peterson decorated my apartment 25 years ago. Although I've had parts remodeled once since, her initial design continues to please. Not only does it suit my business purposes, I enjoy looking at my apartment every day knowing that she did it for me. The designs are functional and equally fitting for a man of my age (I am 94!). Being a television director I have entertained many famous people and many international business guests.

I first met BJ as her client and years later she mentored me as I established my own design firm. She is the quintessential professional we should all emulate- - BJ now consults with me on projects and she is wonderfully generous and collaborative. Love BJ!

I love working with BJ and have twice. First she handled a complete renovation of a townhouse. I had wanted a Spanish home, but couldn't find one I liked. So, with BJ's guidance we pulled it from the 70s into a Santa Fe Contemporary. She hired the contractor, who I've continue to work with, designed built-ins (the owner raves about every time I see him and was the reason he bought the house) as well as carpets and furniture pieces. She is easy-going and easy to work with, even when things didn't go as planned as they do in such a large project. The next project was much smaller scale - help me make my temporary digs more comfortable while I look for my next project. Again she designed furniture, figured out how to re-use some furnishings and brought in the subs needed. I cannot recommend her enough.

I have know and worked with B.J. for over 40 years and have always found her to be very creative, highly professional, ethical and hard working. She is a very good at working with her clients, hearing their needs and addressing them. She is competent in all areas of interior design and planning. Her many contacts in the trade along with numerous other designers from coast to coast has led her into leadership roles in ASID. I would highly recommend her for any task in the interior design business.

During my morning hikes years ago I often admired a particular house, a charming one-story Country French-style home with an elegant, two-tone color scheme, and a beautiful painted front door. The home stood out quietly and respectfully surrounded by lush landscaping. Two years later, luckily, I would meet the owner, interior designer BJ Peterson, who was just as warm and inviting as her home appeared. That was 26 years ago and I've happily referred BJ Peterson Design to others with terrific results. She is a past local and national president of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) who clearly loves what she does, and is particularly skilled as she practices in every conceivable design style. Her excellent reputation was set in stone years ago. Perhaps the best part about BJ is that when the job is finished you'll have a trustworthy and valuable friend who happens to have great taste!
