EMA - Elizabeth Metz Architect

Elizabeth Metz designed our home in Hilltop ten years ago. To this day, people drive up to our house and knock, to ask if we would consider selling it. It is spectacular in its design, simple, understated, and beautiful. The details are perfect. And it is comfortable to live in. In addition to the outcome, which is the home itself, the process was a truly wonderful experience. We enjoyed our meetings with Elizabeth. She made the design process and the building oversight process interesting and fun for us. She listens to her client, and she is so thoughtful and kind, it was a genuine pleasure to work with her, every step of the way. We continue to tap into Elizabeth when we need help with updates and minor changes that we want to make, and she is always receptive and resourceful.

We bought an old 1940's "box" house in Denver because the location was perfect for us. Elizabeth was the architect who shared our vision and had the gift to turn the dream and vision into reality! After asking us to create the list of "must have" and "nice to have," she had this amazing insight into our box house becoming the lifelong home we envisioned. Among Elizabeth's strengths: she respects the integrity of the structure and preserves what is important and/or worth preserving; she understands and incorporates the character of the neighborhood; she respects budgets and deadlines, and holds the general contractor/sub-contractors accountable in a fair way; and she is skillful when it comes to finding creative solutions for unanticipated problems that are endemic to old houses. As we have done other projects since the initial remodeling, we have gone back to Elizabeth three times in 15 years. I can't imagine working with anyone else as committed, experienced, or personally and professionally dedicated to the work as Elizabeth.
