DENVER | NEW ENGLAND Ever since I was a kid, I have been fascinated with homes—how they live, feel and age. While oblivious to it at the time, I realize now how blessed I was to have grown up in Buffalo, NY, perhaps the most architecturally significant city in the country. Who knew? At 23, I landed my first design job at Ann Sacks Tile & Stone, later The Kohler Company, and began an 8-year immersion into craftsmanship, manufacturing, architecture, materials and surfaces. This sparked a never-ending curiosity for how things are made that I’ve since channeled into interior design, as well as my tile, stone and decorative surfaces consulting work. Since launching Griffin Design Source in 2003, I am fortunate to have worked on incredible projects all around the world, from 400-square-foot writing nooks to 16,000-square-foot family estates. My work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Coastal Living, Luxe Interiors & Design, and HGTV Magazine among others. But what excites me most about my job is the process: meeting a new client, visiting a job site, sourcing the perfect piece, overseeing a complex installation, hearing from a satisfied client, or better yet, hearing from one of their houseguests! This all-in approach allows me to translate two decades of technical expertise into homes that live well. I understand the vernacular of architect, designer and tradesperson alike. I speak antique and custom, textiles and building codes. And I obsess over every detail (much to the chagrin of my husband). Over the years, I’ve built trusted relationships with some of the best craftsmen and designers in the world. I take the time to dig deep and ask questions because I know that a collaborative effort lays the foundation for an efficient project and most importantly, a well-designed home and I love a well-designed home.
