Part found object and part functional vessel, the Grenelle takes its design cues from carved African stools, modernist sculpture, and primitive carvings . It can be used as a vase, planter, or decorative object. It's height, scale, and texture add dimension to any space.

Hours and hours are spent by a ceramic artist to painstakingly form, pinch and shape the porcelain clay into these master forms which are not only beautiful and unusual, but have the structural integrity to maintain their shapes when fired. The coup de grace is the extreme variation in subtle color and opacity of the reactive glaze--a range from dusty browns and grays to clear golden citron. Available in a vase and two bowl sizes. For centuries decorative nails have been used by artisans from Europe, Africa and the Middle East, both to secure leather to wood and also to create pattern on large surfaces of trunks, chair backs or even headboards. Studio A designers found examples of this long lived international tradition at the Museum of International Folk Art and translated it into ceramics. The result is stunning.
