Peralta Construction transformed our 1980's master bathroom into a modern, beautiful, and functional space. Before, we had an old tub and basic, dated fixtures. We now have a walk in shower with Subway tile and a bench that truly makes us feel like we are in a spa. The wall behind the vanity is also Subway tile, as is the wall on the outside of the shower. We didn't have a door on the bathroom, which was such an inconvenience, and now we have a pocket door! They even got rid of the horrible popcorn ceilings. Everyone that has seen the new bathroom tells us that it looks like it is in a fancy hotel.
Having a construction project in your home can really be an inconvenience, however we could not have asked for a better experience. From the day John and his crew started, they were 100% professional, courteous, and respectful of our wishes and our home. They went above and beyond to deliver an amazing finished product. When we started, we weren't sure exactly what we wanted. John worked with us to come up with a design, and it turned out much better than we could have ever imagined. Our new master bathroom is by far the most amazing room in the house. We are so happy that we hired Peralta construction to do our remodel and we highly recommend them.

Peralta Construction recently completed a major kitchen and dining room remodeling project that transformed our entire 1970s home into an up-to-date, open, and beautiful living space. We were 100% pleased with the remodel process from the contract and permitting process, through demolition, reconstruction, and finish out and can’t overstate how pleased we are with the final product. John and his crew surpassed our expectations with their craftsmanship and professional demeanor. They approached all aspects of our project--the overall construction, carpentry, masonry, sheetrock installation, painting, and tile work--with a sophisticated eye for detail and design. All of John’s professional subcontractors adhere to the same high standards as well.
Importantly for us, they have the experience and flexibility to handle any unexpected situations which are inherent to the major remodel of an older home. We would absolutely recommend Peralta Construction for any construction project and would approach them again regarding any future project of our own.

We contracted John last year to remodel our home in a Spanish revival style. It was a huge project, and we couldn't be happier with the results. John is experienced, honest, creative, and has an amazing work ethic. He has a great eye for design, and we often deferred to his judgment for important decisions on materials and style. If you are looking for someone to help you shape your vision and execute on it to high standards, I highly recommend him.

After a good recommendation from a coworker, we hired John Peralta to act as a general contractor for a major renovation project. It was time to make a serious update on my late 1950s ranch home. It had a cramped, awkward kitchen, a 50+ year old electrical service and bathroom, and dirty white tile flooring that was impossible to keep clean. We had no prior experience with a project of this scale, ambition, and cost, and John was an excellent source for skilled labor, design ideas, and general advice. He is honest, patient, incredibly hard working, has a great sense of design, and a deep bench of talented craftsmen and women available to help.
The renovation included modifying an exterior wall, new flooring throughout the house, a new kitchen, a new bathroom, updating the insulation, significant electrical work, drywall, painting, and plumbing work. John was there through it all, always available to consider ideas, answer questions, and manage the specialized tradesmen. He did much of the work himself, including demolition, cabinet and appliance install, all the tile work, and a lot more.
These kinds of projects are not easy, but now that it's done, we absolutely love the house. It's beautiful. The kitchen is streamlined and filled with light. The bath feels like a spa. The floors are warm and beautiful. If you're thinking about doing some home improvement, I strongly recommend you contact John Peralta at Peralta Construction.

I had been dreaming of a kitchen remodel for years. My husband got a good bonus at work last year so we decided to do it. After interviewing several contractors we became rather discouraged by the bids we received as they were all *starting out* more than we wanted to spend, before any inevitable additional expenses came up. I had almost given up on the idea when we found John. He is a one man show, with no sub-contractors to pay, so his overhead is lower than the other guys. I liked that we didn't have to go through a pipeline of people to get to the guy that put in a regular light switch where we wanted a dimmer.
He has a good eye for what will look good and offered invaluable advice on ways to modify our design that would make the end product better. The two things that were his idea, one of which I was not really on board with (skylights) but he insisted, turned out to be be the some of the best choices we made throughout the entire project. Many people who come through the house are quick to point out the awesomeness of the skylights.
John is also a very fast worker. He was ahead of schedule throughout the project and I was struggling to stay on top of my end - ordering backsplash, choosing paint colors, ect. The only delays we saw came from the cabinet company. When they screwed up our order, he was able to fix it and did more than I had requested of him because he refuses to do anything less than 100% right. He will be in regular contact with you to discuss even the smallest details.
There are no words to express how happy I am with our new kitchen. Seriously, no complaints. Hire this guy and consider yourself lucky to have found him!

I have recommended John's work to several friends since he moved to Austin and they've all sincerely thanked me for it. He's a great guy with an amazing eye for detail (you should see his sculptures, featured in a prominent local gallery) and a wide range of skills. He's also not afraid to call in help from a specialist when warranted.
He shows up, and usually finishes ahead of schedule and on budget. Can't recommend him highly enough.

I have been lucky enough to get to work with Peralta Construction on several occasions. I had a few large and unique projects for our log cabin in South Austin and John did an amazing job throughout. His pricing was fair, his work impeccable, and he always finished on time or early. His attention to detail and artist's eye were two of the things I appreciated the most. He replaced a wooden deck for us, built another small deck, enclosed a water well with a beautiful fountain and more. I always recommend him to our friends!

John has done two jobs for us. A new stairway and a retaining wall. The stairs were done with precision, know how and speed. We love them. For the retaining wall John worked with a crew who he managed very well. We live on a very steep hill so it was difficult. It offers great support to the house as well as being used as a vegetable garden so it looks great. He has a great personality, brings a positive attitude, works hard, charges reasonably and we were very satisfied with his work. I highly recommend him.

We hired Peralta for a bathroom remodel and we couldn't be happier. The owner John went way above and beyond to deliver a breathtaking bathroom that included turning one of the closets into a large shower/steam room. I really can't say enough about the quality of their work. Every small detail was considered and the end product is more beautiful than we even imagined.
I've referred Peralta to a few friends and they all rave about John and his crew and the work they've done. Don't hesitate to hire these guys. You'll be in very good hands.

John was hired to do some very detailed buildout work in an audio post facility I help run. His work as always absolutely first rate. He's caring, and delicate with existing fixtures, does what he says he's going to do and does it flawlessly. Incredibly reliable, competent and reasonably priced. Think of him as an affordable master carpenter/builder who could be charging exponentially more. Hire him while you can.
