About Us

I am a Chicago based kitchen and cabinet designer, cabinetmaker, as well as finish carpenter. For the last 20 years I have been trained to build and design both residential and commercial cabinetry. My hands on experience comes from kitchen design firms, cabinet shops, and schooling. With that experience I am able to deliver on customer expectations for their top of the line finished product. My experience with design, fabrication, and installation allows me to easily adjust to unforeseen circumstances.

Highly recommend Heidkamp Design Our project was vanities for for 2 full baths and and powder room. Mark Heidkamp came out, took measurements, asked us what our style design, wood type and colors were. Then discussed door and drawer designs, leaving us with wood and color samples and said call when we had decided or if we had questions, no hurry. Then after we had decided on countertop design and color he brought more color and wood samples and we made our final decision and ordered. Vanities came in sturdy cardboard boxes delivered up to our third floor without, any flaws. Vanities installed by our contractor. Cabinetry definitely way better than any big box stores. If you are in need of kitchen or bath cabinetry, give Heidkamp a call, you will not go wrong.

Exception design for a 100 year-old house. Striving for transitional arts and crafts style with contemporary accents. Mark achieved a functional design, incorporating 30" column refrigerator and freezer, two in-island 30" ovens, a dry bar with separate drinks cooler. The cabinets provide ample storage throughout, including above the refrigerator/freezer and over the vent. The result is a well-planned and spacious kitchen with shaker, quarter-sawn white oak cabinets.

Heidkamp did a great job on our kitchen cabinets, we absolutely love them. This was a big job, we had over 40 cabinets and each one is perfect. They brought us great ideas how to lay out our kitchen and they continue to follow-up to make sure everything is still good! If I ever need more cabinets or know someone that is looking I would definitely recommend them.

We recently worked with Heidkamp to design and build custom cabinets as part of a complete remodel of our kitchen. We couldn't be happier with the results. Due the age of our house, the project was not without its challenges (uneven floors, etc). But Heidkamp was still able to seamlessly build and install everything in a way that's perfectly integrated into the rest of the house. Every step of the process went well. From the initial design meeting, to the final stages of finishing touches and small onsite adjustments. We really got the sense that every detail was accounted for. Mark and his team were not only hardworking and professional, but also friendly and easy to have around. The end result are cabinets that are beautifully designed, built to last, and exactly what we were hoping for.

This is our second excellent experience with Mark and Heidkamp Design. They made our kitchen cabinets about 2 years ago. We called again when we started our primary bath remodel. Mark and his team made custom vanity cabinets and a custom linen cabinet. The workmanship is stellar. Mark is super responsive. The cabinets are gorgeous and beautifully constructed. The delivery was very easy and they were super careful. Highly recommend Mark and his team!

This was our first home renovation project and Heidkamp made our process easier, and we couldn't be happier with the final product. We have a small kitchen but wanted to maximize the space and really showcase the area as it's an important part of our house. We worked with Mark on some beautiful custom cabinetry, including a burnt sugar rustic wood piece that goes around our fridge, as well as glass door cabinets, dishwasher panel, an awesome custom range hood box and some really functional floating shelves. We learned a lot in the process and overall had a great experience, and are looking forward to future projects with Mark and his team!

Helmuth along with Heidkamp Design was more than happy to help us and made a brand new door that matched the original cabinets perfectly! We are so happy they were willing to help us when no one else would and are extremely pleased with the overall service! They were all amazing to work with and kept us informed on prices, timeline, and when the door was ready in a timely manner.

We recently finished a much need kitchen renovation. After Mark was referred to us by a neighbor we reached out. He came to the house, spent a lot of time with us talking about different possibilities with layout. The design he did absolutely blew us away. It was more then we could have ever imagined on our own. He was so helpful throughout the entire process and guided us through all of the many many decisions. He was honest with us and we never felt pressured in any way. He referred us to reliable vendors for other elements of the kitchen as well, like the countertops. We are so incredibly happy with the end result. I would recommend Heidkamp Design if you are looking for a truly one of a kind custom kitchen that functions perfectly for your individual families needs. He won me over when he was standing in our kitchen and began sketching right then and there. Mark is meticulous when it comes to details and the product is certainly worth the investment! Mark made working together incredibly easy. He has a traveling showroom which saved us time when picking out materials--everything is in his truck and set up beautifully. Above all, Mark worked in lock step with our contractor to deliver ON TIME as promised. He continually reassured us he had everything handled and was responsive to all our questions and concerns. If you're working with a bank through a loan process, Mark has experience with that process as well--which proved really helpful. I can't recommend Mark enough. He took our space and truly transformed it. He is fair, honest, and a pleasure to work with.
