“Stearns designed and built a house, shop, and an open pole barn for my wife and I. All interactions and communications were professional and accurate. The design process was excellent with a view toward the best functionality and value. There were many opportunities to discuss pros and cons of various layouts and materials of construction. The process included selections for everything in the house and there were no (none) surprises at the end where basic things like light fixtures turned out to be "not included". The build process included weekly status communications and clear communication around changes--no doing something and then an unexpected cost adder. All change costs were dealt with up front in a professional way. It became clear to my wife and I that Stearns intended to deliver everything under the contract in a complete and quality fashion. There were some issues at the end concerning consistent operation of the automatic gate to the property. It took several months but this was dealt with to our complete satisfaction. At the close of our home contract, we asked Stearns to build a small floating dock on our pond, which they did for a very reasonable price. We are more than satisfied with the work by Stearns and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.”

“Levitas Modern Homes helped us tremendously in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey flooding our home in August of 2017. Jeremy initially helped us with the demo portion of the project to get started drying out the slab and framing. We were so impressed with his knowledge, suggestions and work processes that we contracted him for the entire remodel project. Working through the many constraints present in the Houston area at that time with regard to qualified sub-contractor and materials shortages he still was able to get our home remodel project completed and had us living back in our home by Christmas of that same year. In addition to getting us put back together, Levitas was able to include several upgrades and changes to our kitchen and bathrooms which reflected a more modern and upscale appearance and no doubt added substantial value to our property. All of this was accomplished within the budget afforded by our homeowners insurance. We cannot thank Jeremy and all the staff at Levitas Modern Homes enough for a superb effort and outcome. We would absolutely recommend them for any remodel or new build projects and will use them again ourselves should the need ever arise! Tracen, Mackey and their team designed and built a home for me using timbers from a 150 yr.-old Kentucky barn, corrugated steel from an old Texas silo, and beautiful reclaimed pine floors. “Hatch Works was the designer and builder on three unique projects at my 1950s house in central Austin. A tear down and rebuild of a garage with office space/small apt. above, a studio and a screened entertainment area off the main house. These projects went well above my expectations in terms of creativity and build quality. Adam was faced with many challenges including several heritage trees, sensitivity to mature landscaping, very tight working area for deliveries and old electrical and plumbing. To say he and his team were patient, capable problem solvers would be a gross understatement.
